Booking for Beginners.

Booking details, including opening dates, will be included in each PD workshop's information page.  Please read all entries on the page carefully.  We try to keep everything as similar as possible but sometimes we need to change the way things work for a specific PD.  We apologize for the inconvenience but sometimes things just happen that are out of our control!

Expressions of Interest.

In normal circumstances bookings will open exactly 6 weeks prior to the day the Workshop is scheduled but announcements that the Workshop will be available generally happen weeks or months before this date.

If we advertise a date for a PD workshop, barring exceptional circumstances, it is guaranteed to run regardless of numbers attending.  For this reason we will not normally ask for expressions of interest.

If circumstances demand unusual booking procedures we prefer to offer interim bookings which we will set a timeframe to finalize. Should you not finalize your booking by the specified date you will be removed from the bookings list.  No payment of any booking fee is required for an interim booking, your booking fee will only be accepted when you finalize your booking.

First come, first served!

We at the Wodonga CRT Support Network are slave to two masters, VIT and the DEECD.  While the CRT Professional Learning Support Initiative funding utilizes the VIT CRT Network structure to organize and run PD workshops, the funding is not intended to support the network.  It is intended to fund PD for all Victorian CRTs.  We take this to heart and do our best to ensure that membership plays no part in whether you receive a seat in a DEECD funded PD.

To ensure that Network members have no advantage in accessing seats for DEECD funded PD we operate on a strict "First Come, First Served" basis.

For full-day PD opportunities this means your seat is not guaranteed until the payment of your Booking Fee.  ** Because of our booking system alternate arrangements are available for travellers! **

Bookings for full-day PD can be made at the main office of the Wodonga South Primary School, Cartwright St Wodonga (Southern Rise location).   If this is impractical please email wodongacrt@vit.vic.edu.au to book and make alternate arrangements.

For 2.5 hour PD you simply have to email us and and book, there is no booking fee for 2.5 hour PD.

We will not accept bookings submitted prior to the opening date.  You will receive a notification that bookings are not yet open and be asked to apply again after the announced opening date.

If a workshop is booked out you may ask to be placed on a waiting list.  Should any seats open up we will offer seats to those on the waiting list instead.  You will not be required to pay any fee to be placed on the waiting list.

By sticking to this format it doesn't matter whether you are a member or not, if you book first you get the seat.  It is a fair, and openly transparent, way to ensure that Membership will not help you obtain a seat in DEECD funded workshops.

Keeping yourself informed.

Network members receive email notification of the opening of bookings for each workshop.  Because we need to keep a level playing field we offer a number of ways to keep yourself up to speed.

First, you may become a Wodonga CRT Support Network member.  If you join the Network (there is no cost and no compulsory activities) you will recieve email notifications every time we open bookings for a PD.  This is only required if you wish to participate in periodic meetings or take part in Network funded PD opportunities (the majority of our PD workshops are funded by the DEECD).  If you would like more information about VIT CRT Networks, and what our Network in particular does aside from PD workshops, you can visit our Main Blog (the blue one).  There is a short informational video near the top of the sidebar and the 3 pages in particular to have a look at are the "About Us", "Network PD and VIT" and "Monthly Meetings" pages.

Alternatively, we run a second mailing list for those interested in PD announcements only.  You will recieve exactly the same email notification as members do at exactly the same time, we just add the PD mailing list to the blind CC.

Joining either the Network or the  mailing list means that from time to time you will also receive other notifications and emails we are asked to distribute.  For the PD mailing list these are the occasional questionnaires from VIT or the DEECD.  Unless you ask to join the Network or the PD mailing list we do not keep your email address on file once the PD you have booked for has been run!

The last option is to use the "notify by email" tool in the sidebar of this blog (right under the Pdi logo).  Simply put your email address in the box and Blogger will automatically send you a notification of each new post we put on the blog.  We announce the opening of bookings on the PD blog at the same time as we send out emails and you will usually receive a notification within 24 hours of our posting.  This is an automatic notification through Blogger and we cannot guarantee delivery times.

Alternatively you can keep an eye on us manually by either periodically looking at this blog or searching Pdi for "Wodonga CRT".

We hope that one of these options helps you to conveniently stay up to speed on the workshops we offer!

Regards,

Melinda Lichnovsky-Klock
Wodonga CRT Support Network Coordinator.
