Cybersafety Outreach Program

This is a free day-long PD run by the ACMA's (Australian Communications and Media Authority) and it is a well worthwhile day to attend. I attended a session in term 4 last year and it really opened my eyes to all the issues and situations teachers are put in around technology. They will also provide you with some interesting websites to look at and even use with the kids in the classroom.

The next session is due to run in Wangaratta (click for details) on the 22nd April. I will try to get a hold of the group to see if they are able to make a run up to Wodonga later on in the year, so keep your eyes open for details of that if you are unable to attend the Wangaratta session.

Registration form can be found at http://www.cybersmart.gov.au/en/Schools/Book%20teacher%20professional%20development.aspx on the right hand side under "Professional Development of Educators in VIC and TAS"

Special INVITATION for CRTs

Ever wondered what it would be like to teach in a special school?

Now’s your chance to find out. Belinda Lingham, vice principal of Belvoir Special Development School will be holding a special information
session and tour for interested CRTs.

Belvoir SDS has a full time staff of 20 with an additional 25 educational support staff (aids) and they cater for 118 students. For teachers who have an interest and show an aptitude for teaching students with special needs, there are great work opportunities. Casual work as a CRT often leads into short term contract work and other contracts for those who demonstrate they’ve got what it takes.

We encourage you to come along and see for yourself these wonderful kids and the great staff and facilities.

Belinda has kindly given us three options. The greatest interest level will likely determine which session is run or if there is enough numbers they may all run. The daytime sessions are probably the most advantageous for you as classes will be running and you will get a chance to see them in action.

Monday 15th MARCH at 10am—11am
OR Wednesday 17th MARCH at 10am—11am
OR Thursday 18th MARCH at 4pm—5pm

Book Now before Friday 5th March.

Please contact MOSAIC on 03 5722 1649 to register your interest for a session and to book your place.
